Overview
There are journeys that take you across a landscape, and there are journeys that carry you somewhere far deeper. The Chardham Yatra has drawn pilgrims into the high Himalayas for centuries, across mountain passes, through river valleys and along ancient footpaths worn smooth by generations of devoted feet. This exclusive helicopter pilgrimage distills that sacred circuit into six days of rare beauty and profound spiritual meaning, placing the four holiest shrines of Uttarakhand within reach without surrendering a single moment of reverence along the way.
Beginning and ending in Dehradun, the pilgrimage elevates you beyond the noise of daily life and into the awe-inspiring grandeur of the Himalayas. Snow-covered ridgelines, silver rivers threading through deep gorges, dense forests of oak and pine giving way to high-altitude meadows, and ancient temples perched at elevations that once required weeks of walking to reach. From the sacred source of the Yamuna at Yamunotri to the divine banks of the Ganga at Gangotri, from the Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva at Kedarnath to the magnificent abode of Lord Vishnu at Badrinath, every stop on this circuit carries the accumulated faith of millions of pilgrims across thousands of years.
The itinerary has been crafted to honour both the spiritual purpose and the physical comfort of every traveller. Premium accommodations at each destination, VIP Darshan assistance at all four temples, dedicated ground support throughout, and the extraordinary privilege of aerial views across the Himalayan range together ensure that the journey matches the magnitude of the destination. Whether you come seeking blessings, inner stillness, or simply the experience of standing in places where the sacred and the sublime meet, this is a pilgrimage designed to stay with you long after you return to the plains.

Itinerary
Your pilgrimage begins not at a temple, but in the gentle foothills of Uttarakhand, where Dehradun sits at the threshold between the plains and the mountains. Upon your arrival, your ground team will receive you and transfer you to your hotel, where the Himalayan air carries the first quiet suggestion of the landscape that awaits.
The evening is devoted to preparation rather than rush. Your operations team will brief you in full on flight timings, safety procedures, baggage allowances, and the flow of days ahead. Duffel bags for the journey will be provided, and any questions about the circuit or the temples can be answered with the care they deserve. Dinner at the hotel follows, and as you rest through the night, the mountains are already there in the distance, patient and waiting.
Overnight at Dehradun
Transfer to Sahastradhara Helipad | Helicopter flight to Kharsali
The morning begins early, as all mountain days should. Your transfer to Sahastradhara Helipad sets the first movement of a journey that will take you, by the day’s end, to one of the most remote and sacred corners of the Himalayan world. As the helicopter lifts away from Dehradun, the city falls away beneath you and the mountains open up in every direction, a panorama of ridges, valleys, rivers and sky that no road journey could ever quite prepare you for.
Landing at Kharsali, the small and charming village that serves as the base for the Yamunotri sector, you will proceed toward Yamunotri Temple, the seat of Goddess Yamuna and the divine source of one of India’s most sacred rivers. The path to the temple can be made by foot, or with the assistance of a pony or palki, depending on your preference and physical ease, both of which are available for your convenience. At the temple itself, the hot water springs of Surya Kund bubble beside the shrine, where pilgrims have cooked rice and potatoes in the thermal waters for generations as an offering to the Goddess. The atmosphere here, with incense, prayer, the sound of rushing water and the cold mountain wind, is unlike anything the world below can offer.
Return to Kharsali as the afternoon light turns golden across the hillsides. Dinner at the hotel.
Overnight at Kharsali
Helicopter flight via Jhalla Helipad | Drive to Gangotri Temple
The morning flight from Kharsali carries you eastward through Himalayan airspace of extraordinary beauty, with apple orchards on the slopes below, dense forests climbing toward the treeline, and the winding silver thread of rivers far beneath the aircraft. Landing near the Harsil region, the drive to Gangotri Temple takes you through one of the most scenic valleys in all of Uttarakhand, where the Bhagirathi River runs clear and forcefully through a landscape of dark pine forests and stone villages.
Gangotri Temple stands at an altitude of over three thousand one hundred metres, dedicated to Goddess Ganga at the place where the sacred river is said to have descended from the heavens to the earth. The temple’s white stone façade against the backdrop of snow-covered peaks and the sound of the Bhagirathi roaring through the gorge below creates an atmosphere of piercing spiritual clarity. After Darshan, the afternoon is yours to explore the quiet beauty of Harsil Valley, one of Uttarakhand’s most beloved and unhurried landscapes, where the world seems to slow and the mountains speak in their own patient language. Dinner at the hotel.
Overnight at Harsil.
Helicopter flight to Sersi | Shuttle helicopter to Kedarnath
Your helicopter from Harsil lands at Sersi, from where a dedicated shuttle flight carries you up to the Kedarnath Helipad, just minutes from the temple. Kedarnath, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, stands at over three thousand six hundred metres, surrounded on three sides by snow-covered peaks and held in a landscape of such austere grandeur that arriving here, however comfortable the means, feels like a genuine act of pilgrimage. VIP Darshan assistance ensures that your time before the ancient stone lingam, worshipped at this site for over a thousand years, is spent entirely in prayer and stillness.
The afternoon brings an optional excursion to Triyuginarayan Temple, where Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are believed to have taken their sacred vows of marriage, and where a flame has burned continuously in the temple courtyard since time immemorial. The views from Kedarnath across the Mandakini valley and toward the vast white sweep of the high Himalayas linger long after the return to Sersi, where the mountain evening settles in with quiet grace. Dinner at the hotel.
Overnight at Sersi
Helicopter flight to Badrinath
The final temple of the Chardham circuit receives you on the fifth day, and Badrinath carries its own particular and magnificent spirit. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the temple sits in the Chamoli district at an altitude of over three thousand one hundred metres, framed by the Nar and Narayan mountain ranges and the imposing peak of Neelkanth rising behind it, a setting of such dramatic natural beauty that the sacred and the sublime are inseparable here.
After check-in at your hotel and Darshan at the Badrinath Temple, where the colourful façade, the sound of temple bells and the cold clean air of the high altitude combine into an experience of rare intensity, the afternoon is given over to Mana Village, just three kilometres from the temple and the last inhabited settlement before the Tibetan border. Wandering its narrow stone lanes, past ancient caves and mythologically significant landmarks that have been pointed out to pilgrims for generations, is an experience that adds a quiet and human dimension to the grandeur of the day. The evening offers time for the Badrinath Aarti, one of the most beautiful and moving ritual experiences on the entire circuit, or simply the peace of the mountain night. Dinner at the hotel.
Overnight at Badrinath
Helicopter return to Sahastradhara Helipad, Dehradun
After breakfast at your hotel, the final helicopter flight of the journey carries you back across the landscape that has held you for five extraordinary days, the peaks, the valleys, the rivers and the temples growing smaller below you as the altitude increases, before the green foothills and the broad plains of Uttarakhand open up around Dehradun once more.
After arriving at Sahastradhara Helipad, our team will assist with your transfer to Dehradun Airport or the railway station, according to your onward travel plans. The tour concludes here, in the foothills where it began, though the mountains, the shrines and everything that happened between them will accompany you for far longer than the journey itself.
